Returning
to the Fetal Position
(Nutra Stick Productions, 1999)
Waiting
As she left the room he mumbled uselessly
"I'm waiting for you to fall in love with me"
As she drove from the town he could speak loudly
"I'm waiting for you to fall in love with me"
A joke she wouldn't get, so she won't hear
Since it is not amusing to his ear
Modern art she won't get so she won't see
So he'll stop seeing himself as artsy
And it's time to go
They say goodbye
It's all good fun
And he's thinking
About the damage
That can't be done
And she's walking off, he really wants to be
Yelling "tell me when you fall in love with me"
But he must hear all told right from she
"Stop waiting because I've fell in love with thee"
The dreams can't last that long, get out of bed
Can't see who cares about books that he's read
But don't let him be filled or killed with dread
The mirror shows the gun pointing at his head
He's just a clown
He wears a frown
And he gets down
Just like all around
The people know
How those things go
With him although
They really don't
They just see him
As jungle gyms
That kids beat dim
Don't look at him
As she's leaving the room him mumbles uselessly
"I'm waiting for you to fall in love with me"
And she drives from the town he can speak loudly
"I'm waiting for you to fall in love with me"
